Laurel hasn't seen Tamani since she begged him to let her go last year. Though her heart still aches, Laurel is confident that David was the right choice.

But just as life is returning to normal, Laurel discovers that a hidden enemy lies in wait. Once again, Laurel must turn to Tamani to protect and guide her, for the danger that now threatens Avalon is one that no faerie thought would ever be possible. And for the first time, Laurel cannot be sure that her side will prevail.

When I picked up Spells, I didn’t even realize how behind I was and that Illusions was already out. I was so excited when I finally got it and read it.

First, I have to say, I’ve never been so conflicted with picking which boy a girl should be with in a story. I love both David and Tamani and I honestly can’t decided who I think Laurel should be with because they’re both great for her in different ways. I would love to have either of them as a boyfriend so I totally feel for her and understand how she is so confused. There were times where I was all for David, then times I was all for Tamani.

Illusions picks up a few months after Spells ends and Laurel is starting her senior year. She had spent her entire summer in Avalon, and you can definitely see an improvement in her. She is falling into being a faerie so much better than she was before. It almost seemed as if she wasn’t all that crazy about it, but now it’s just normal and exciting to her.

You are instantly sucked in from page one and it keeps you guessing and wondering through the first 3/4 of the book. I love how you get kind of thrown off for awhile until finally the pieces start to come together. I love that there is never any parts that are kind of boring and you just want to get through them. Everything grabs your interested and you get enough detail without it being to much.

The ending had me on the edge of my seat and I was so mad that it was such a big cliff hanger. Seriously, it was not fair. Wings and Spells didn’t have huge cliff hangers, but this one was…so frustrating because I have to wait to find out what happens. I want to know now! I love this serious so much and I can’t believe it’s almost over. I am going to be seriously depressed when I finish it.
