When alchemist Sydney is ordered into hiding to protect the life of Moroi princess Jill Dragomir, the last place she expects to be sent is a human private school in Palm Springs, California. But at their new school, the drama is only just beginning.

Populated with new faces as well as familiar ones, Bloodlines explores all the friendship, romance, battles and betrayals that made the #1 New York Times bestselling Vampire Academy series so addictive - this time in a part-vampire, part-human setting where the stakes are even higher and everyone's out for blood.

I loved the Vampires Academy series so much, so even though I’d been excited for more, I was a bit hesitant going into Bloodlines. Rose was such an awesome character and I couldn’t imagine reading from another characters point of view and enjoying it the same.

If you read the Vampire Academy series before this, you already feel connected to this world and are familiar with the characters. It makes things more interesting because while you knew of some of these characters, you learn more and dig deeper into who they are.

Sydney is an Alchemist and she helps out with keep humans unaware of the vampires. While they cover enough information in Vampire Academy, it’s cool to learn this whole other side of things that you really didn’t think of as much. You don’t even realize how much actually goes into being an Alchemist and what it truly means.

Bloodlines is pretty steady through most of the book and has you guessing the entire time to what is actually going on then BAM! There is just so much action packed into the last chunk of the book that has you completely on the edge of you seat.

Mead does such an amazing job of coming up with this world and building these characters so much and giving you a ton of action. Bloodlines was the perfect start to this series and I’m so anxious to see where it is going to go from here.
